How to Choose the Right Glu Glu Band Laptop Bag Size
Finding the right fit starts with your laptop — and with how you carry your day.
At Glu Glu Band, a laptop bag should do more than hold your device. Cushioned protection surrounds the laptop compartment, while durable materials, fresh color and deep, easy-access storage help make everyday travel feel lighter and more organized.
This guide shows you how to begin with your laptop's actual size, compare it with the compartment, and choose the Glu Glu Band bag that fits the way you work, study and move.
GOOD TO KNOW
Start with your laptop, not the screen size.
A laptop's advertised size refers to the diagonal measurement of its screen — not the full width and depth of the device.
That's why a “16-inch laptop” won't necessarily fit every bag labeled for 16-inch laptops. The safest way to choose is to compare your laptop's actual dimensions with the dimensions of the padded laptop compartment.
Measure the device. Then check the compartment.
How to measure your laptop
Close your laptop and measure the device itself. You only need three measurements.
01 — Width
Measure horizontally from the left edge of the laptop to the right edge.
02 — Depth
Measure from the front edge to the back edge.
03 — Thickness
Measure the laptop while closed, including any feet or raised edges.
Tip: If you normally use a hard shell case, measure your laptop with the case on. If you prefer to carry it without a case, Glu Glu Band laptop compartments use cushioning around the device to add protection during everyday carry.

The size label is a starting point, not a guarantee of fit. For the most accurate match, compare your laptop's actual width, depth and thickness with the laptop compartment dimensions listed on each product page.
Why two 16-inch laptops can fit differently
Screen size is measured diagonally across the display. It doesn't include the bezel, keyboard deck or outer shell.
That means a slim 16-inch laptop and a performance-focused 16-inch laptop may have noticeably different overall dimensions.
This matters even more with larger laptops, where a few extra millimeters can determine whether the device sits comfortably inside the padded compartment.
When in doubt, compare centimeters — not just inches.
Should a laptop bag fit tightly?
Secure doesn't have to mean tight.
A laptop should sit comfortably inside its compartment without excessive movement, but you shouldn't need to force it past the zipper or stretch the compartment to make it fit.
A little breathing room also makes it easier to take your laptop in and out throughout the day.
Tote or backpack?
Start with how you carry your day.
Once you've found the right laptop size, think about how you prefer to carry everything else.

Measure your actual laptop
Measure the width, depth and thickness of the device you carry.
Compare the laptop compartment
Look for actual compartment dimensions whenever they're available.
Think about what else you carry
A charger, notebook, bottle or lunch may mean you need more room around your laptop — not a larger laptop compartment itself.
Laptop Bag Size FAQ
How do I know what size laptop bag I need?
Measure the width, depth and thickness of your laptop, then compare those measurements with the laptop compartment dimensions of the bag. Screen size is a useful reference, but actual device dimensions give you a more reliable fit.
Will a 15.6-inch laptop fit in a 14-inch laptop bag?
Sometimes, but not always. Laptop size labels refer to screen size rather than the full dimensions of the device. Check the laptop's actual measurements against the bag's laptop compartment before ordering.
Will a 17.3-inch laptop fit in a 17-inch laptop bag?
It depends on both the laptop and the compartment. A screen-size label alone can't confirm the fit. Compare the device's width, depth and thickness with the compartment dimensions, and check the fit information for the specific bag before ordering.
Should a laptop fit tightly inside a laptop bag?
It should feel secure, but not forced. The laptop should slide in and out comfortably while the padded compartment helps limit unnecessary movement.
Should I measure my laptop with its case on?
Yes. If you normally keep a hard shell or protective case on your laptop, measure the device with the case attached.
